Kelsey Holden

Kelsey Holden commenced dancing at The Jane Moore Academy of Ballet in 2004 and in 2012, became a student teacher choreographing solos for a number of students in various styles.

During her time at Jane Moore, Kelsey studied Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Contemporary. It was here that she developed her love for dance and was trained with technical precision and style. Kelsey completed her RAD Grade Examinations (1 to 8) and Major Examinations (Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 1) achieving a Distinction each time.

In 2008 Kelsey was lucky enough to perform in Tchaikovsky’s 'The Sleeping Beauty' with the touring company of The Kiev Ballet at the Regent Theatre.

At age 16, Kelsey was involved in Paul Malek’s 'Contemporary Youth Company Project Y' performing the piece 'Apocalypse' with 30 other talented young dancers aged 11 – 22. She also underwent Paul Malek’s Short Course in Contemporary Dance and Improvisation at the age of 18, which further enhanced her skills as a dancer and choreographer.

In 2013, Kelsey completed her Certificate II in Dance Performance and achieved a perfect study score of 50 in VCE VET Dance. In 2014, she was selected to perform three of her solos at the Melbourne Recital Centre in ‘Top Class Dance’. Kelsey was also recognised for Academic Excellence in VCE VET Dance and was awarded the prestigious Premier's Award. A Premier’s Award is given to the top VCE performers in Victoria and Kelsey was one of two students out of hundreds to receive this award for VCE VET Dance. A great honour and achievement.

More recently, Kelsey has performed at many exclusive events like 'Think Pink Foundation’s Masquerade Ball' at Crown Casino and the Cancer Council’s Tuxedo Junction Charity Ball  held at the Regent Theatre.

In 2015 Kelsey successfully completed her Certificate III in Dance Performance and this year she continues her training by taking part in her 2nd year of Full Time Performing Arts at Patrick Studios Australia. Kelsey has a real passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation of dancers and she loves teaching the talented students at The Jane Moore Academy of Ballet.
