The aim of The Jane Moore Academy of Ballet’s Full Time/Part Time Ballet Program is to train and prepare young dancers contemplating a career in Dance. The Academy has an established reputation for teaching excellence delivered in purpose built studio facilities located in Highett, Melbourne Victoria.

The Academy provides students with access to professional, highly qualified and dedicated teachers who are committed to training and developing young dancers, supporting and encouraging them to achieve their goals and to reach their full potential.

A world class Faculty including some of Australia’s leading teachers have been assembled to deliver this Full Time Ballet Program committed to advancing talented male and female dancers considering a career in ballet.

Full Time ballet students elect to study their secondary school academic subjects via Distance Education.

*VET Dance Year 11 and 12 is offered at the academy and can be started in Yr10

  • Jane Moore – JMAB Principal with 38 years teaching experience. Studied with Miss Kathleen Gorham, Mr Martin Rubinstein, Miss Leoni Best & Miss Eileen Tasker
  • Claire Campbell - ABS Graduate; ABS Graduate Touring Company under Marilyn Rowe (OBE) and Gailene Stock (AM); Scottish Ballet coached by Galina Samsova, Lyn Seymour, Kenneth MacMillan, Jiri Kylian, Sorella Englund and Lila York
  • Simone Goldsmith - Studied with Karen Stephens and ABS, Ex Principal Ballerina - The Australian Ballet Company
  • Alida Segal - Russia’s Moiseyev Ballet Graduate specialising in National and Character Dance
  • Andrea Wigg - Professional Dancer / Choreographer / Teacher - danced with Victoria State Opera; Ex teacher Tony Bartuccio’s Performing Arts Centre; current JMAB Jazz and Lyrical Teacher & Eisteddfod Adjudicator
  • Kalman Warhaft - ABS graduate; Advanced Diploma of Dance; Ex Sydney Dance Company, Opera Australia, Opera Qld, and Victorian Opera; JMAB Contemporary teacher
  • Mary Renouf - trained with Kathleen Gorham & A. B. S., ex Aust. Ballet Company & European Companies
  • Adrian Fryer - trained A. B. S., ex Aust. Ballet Company & European Companies

Pre-Requisites/Entry Requirements

  • Senior Coaching Level 4 Program must attain 15+ yrs. (approx. Yr 9+) 
  • Coaching Level 3 14+ yrs.(Year 9+) 
  • Coaching Level 2 13+ yrs.(Year 8-9) 
  • Coaching Level 1 12+yrs (Year 7-8)

Audition Dates

Auditions will be held in October although students may apply at other times subject to availability of places.

Audition Requirements

Panel audition students will be notified results via email. Students wear their own choice of leotard, tights and ballet flats*.  

*Please note pointe shoes will also be required for girls

Audition Fee: $30 payable on the day

Fees for 2017

  • Coaching Level 1  Term Fees: $275*
  • Coaching Level 2 Term Fees: $485*
  • Coaching Level 3 Term Fees: $485*
  • Coaching Level 3 & 4 (Senior Full-time) Term Fees: $1,650 (includes evening / Sat classes)
  • Student uniform / shoes at own cost
